Centrally located on the charming, cosmopolitan island of Capri, which lies off the coast of Sorrento, the Grand Hotel Quisisana is one of the most elegant and excellent hostelries in Italy. Travelers to Italy have not fully experienced this beautiful country if they neglected the area south of Naples extending from Sorrento to Positano and Amalfi or missed the hydrofoil ride to Capri. The Greek Islands may be charming, the French Riviera is chic, and Venice may he for lovers, but Capri has it all charm, beauty, romance and the Grand Hotel Quisisana offers an opportunity to enjoy this exquisite island in luxurious surroundings and spacious accommodations, with concerned service and fine Italian cuisine.
There are several possibilities for traveling to Capri, such as the hydrofoil ride direct from Naples, Amalfi, Positano or Sorrento, or a breathtaking excursion along the Amalfi Drive followed by a boat ride to Capri. Hotel porters will meet you at the dock and take your bags while you take the funicular railway or a taxi to the hotel. There is a charge of approximately 10 euro per bag for this service.

Accommodations
There are 148 lavishly decorated guest accommodations, which include 32 junior suites, six duplex suites and nine special seaview suites, all decorated with marble, antique furnishings and Old World elegance. Most of these guest accommodations have balconies, and all are airconditioned and include modern bathrooms, ceramic tile floors, private room safes, twoline directdial telephones, refrigerators, minibars, remotecontrol televisions with satellite channels and pay television, terry cloth robes and slippers, hair dryers and other amenities. Restaurants, Lounges, and Entertainment
For those who do not choose to take breakfast on their patios or balconies overlooking the sea, a buffet breakfast of fresh orange juice, crisp Italian rolls, croissants, rich coffee, and fresh fruits, cheeses, and meats is spread out on the terrace of the main dining room.
Lunch is served at La Colombaia, the charming outdoor restaurant adjoining the pool. Fresh fish and seafood, a variety of pastas and pizzas, mouthwatering veal and chicken creations, an assortment of fresh fruits, cheeses and pastries, and an extensive Italian wine list are offered at this gourmet meal.
Dinner indoors or on the patio at the charming Restaurant Quisi is a romantic and most gratifying culinary experience. The resort's excellent chefs offer an imaginative menu featuring Italian cuisine accompanied by romantic music and expert service. This is one of the finest hotel restaurants in Italy. During the summer, dinner is also offered at Colombaia accompanied by sax music. Here an extensive menu including an array of salads and cold dishes is featured, along with wines available by the glass from the Intermezzo wine bar.
During high season you may dine at the Quisi Bar. RendezVous serves continental cuisine and Quisi & Sushi offers Japanese fare.
In the evenings, the intimate Quisi bar features a piano player or a small combo for listening and romantic dancing. Inside the Quisi Bar is the Krug Room where guests can taste prestigious champagnes along with special canapes and other dish es. Your room rate includes breakfast. However, the prices for food and beverages can he quite high (depending upon the current exchange rate between the euro and your currency), so insist on checking prices before ordering so as to avoid any misunderstandings.

Sport Facilities
The center of activity during the afternoon is the lovely freshwater pool, where gracious European service people attend to your needs with lounges. towels and cocktails. The Spa at the hotel. Quisi Beauty, includes a Romanesque indoor glassenclosed swimming pool and whirlpool, exercise equipment, sauna and steam (for a 20/30 euro supplement), massage and related facilities. The hotel has two tennis courts in its adjoining gardens, as well as a teaching pro.
Those who prefer a dip in the Mediterranean can be accommodated at Marina Piccola, accessible by a short bus ride or an exciting walk down the side of a steep hill that overlooks the picturesque Faraglioni Rocks.

Miscellaneous and Environs
The owners of the resort, the Morgano family, also own three additional properties, Scalinatella, Casa Morgano and Hotel Flora, all only a fiveminutewalk away. Scalinatella and Casa Morgano are de luxe, boutique hotels; whereas, Hotel Flora is less luxurious and less expensive. These three hotels, although smaller, enjoy breathtaking vistas, and offer a hit more intimacy.
There are several chic European boutiques to the right of the entrance of the hotel, plus numerous other quality shops within a halfmile radius offering Italian linens, silks, high fashions, crystal and souvenirs.
No visit to Capri would be complete without a stroll through the colorful streets and passageways, a ride up the funicular railway, a relaxing aperitif in the main square, a cruise around the island or through the Blue Grotto, an excursion to the top of Anacapri, and a romantic dinner in an openair garden restaurant with strolling guitarists playing your favorite Italian ballads.
Although inundated with summer tourists, my favorite time to visit Capri is during the months of June, July, August and September, when the weather is the mildest. The resort is open from midMarch to the beginning of November.
The Grand Hotel Quisisana offers its guests a comfortable pool and garden area, impeccable service, superb dining, sumptuous accommodations and Italian charm. You will love Capri and the Grand Hotel Quisisana trust me!
